Polarization-dependent loss spectral properties of locally pressed fiber Bragg grating
In this paper,we analyze the polarization-dependengt loss (PDL) spectral properties of the transmitted light of locally pressed fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The transfer matrix method is employed to simulate the PDL spectrum of FBG. Theoretical analysis indicates that when the FBG is subjected to the transverse and local force,the biggest resonance wavelength is linear proportional to the applied force but is unrelated with the fiber length under force. When the force is appled at the middle of the FBG,sidelobes in the PDL spectrum of FBG is the smallest,and the resonance peak is the biggest.
