An Improved Joint Timing and Frequency Synchronization Method for OFDM
An improved joint timing and frequency synchronization method for OFDM is proposed. By using the combination of a special orthogonal PN sequence and a repeated-conjugated- symmetrical structured sequence,the proposed algorithm can realize both timing synchronization and frequency synchronization accurately. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can not only solve the problem of timing synchronization in the channel environment where the first path is not the strongest path,but also can realize accurate frequency synchronization at low signal-to-noise ratio values even in the timing variant channel environment where equal power paths may occur.
