A Aerogel Threshold Cherenkov Counter for the BEPC E3 Beam Line

摘要：

A silica aerogel threshold Cherenkov counter has been built to disonminate between electrons aim pions for the BEPC E3 beam line. Silica aerogel with refractive index of n=1.01 is applied as a radiator. This paper presents a brief explanation of the counter system and its performance obtained in beam tests.
