Effects of the Flat-roofed and Inlet Slit Configurations on Multi-pulse Impulse Coupling Coefficient
Aimed at improving the multi-pulse impulse coupling coefficient,two kinds of parabolic nozzle are employed for the multi-pulse laser propulsion. A detailed evolution process of the flow field of the flat-roofed and inlet slit nozzle is simulated. By comparing Llie experimental and computational results,tlie flat-roofed nozzle gets a higher impulse coupling coefficient than the nozzle with an inlet slit. The multi-pulse impulse coupling coefficient comparing with single pulse is improved by using the above two nozzle geometries. However,the impulse coupling coefficient decreases because the impulse partially loses when there is a slit on the nozzle wall.
