Optimal Scheduling for Downlink Coordinated Multipoint System

With the development of coordinated multipoint transmission/reception (CoMP) technology in Long Term Evolution (LTE),many kinds of popular technologies have been proposed. Resource scheduling is a major topic being discussed recently. In this paper,we mainly study the user and base station scheduling problem. Accordingly we propose a joint base station and user scheduling algorithm,called the optimal scheduling (OS) algorithm. The basic idea is that the scheduler first selects the optimal base station based on MMSESfR criterion for each group of users,and then chooses the optimal user group based on MMSLNR criterion from user groups with the optimal base station. Simulation results show that using this OS algorithm yields better system performance than other scheduling algorithms.
