Technical Analysis on Correlation Detection of Off-axis Scattering of Pulsed Laser

To intercept off-axis scattering of the pulsed laser beam from a Q-switch Nd:YAG laser in the atmosphere,the characteristic of the scattering signal was investigated theoretically. By simulating the scattering signal with a signal generator,the improvement of SNR and the corresponding operating condition of a correlation element was checked experimentally. The results suggest that the correlation method can improve the off-axis scattering interception.
