Experimental Investigation on Removing Emulsified Oil by Aeration Pore Plate Hydrodynamic Cavitation Device
It is very difficult and of great importance to remove the emulsified oil from wastewater. Considering the cavitation effect will improve some extreme physical and chemical processes, an Airing Pore Plate Cavitation Device (APPCD) was designed and used to remove emulsified oil from wastewater. Different amount and pressure of aeration, different cavitation number were put into effect, and the connection between amount of aeration, cavitation number and the removal ratio, the energy needed and the amount of aeration were studied as well. According to the experiment, with the method of aeration, about 61% oil in the wastewater could be removed, and about 58% energy was saved, while the aeration ratio was about 1.15%. To sum up, the APPCD was simple and easy to be industrialized, little secondary pollution. However, the stability and the effect of turbulent intensity on the cavitation process would need further investigation.
