Trend Analysis of Air Temperature between 1979-2000 in Hubei Province

Based monthly mean temperature data of 76 stations and monthly extreme temperature data of 16 typical stations in Hubei Province from 1979 to 2000 and methods of linear regression analysis, multinomial fitting, Mann-Kendall test, moving-t testing, the authors analyzed the annual, seasonal, and monthly mean temperature temporal and spatial variation characteristics. The results showed that the air temperature in Hubei Province had a rising tendency during 21 years, the warming abrupt change of annual mean temperature occurred in 1994. Seasonal mean temperature rose most especially in autumn and winter. The annual extreme high temperature and annual extreme low temperature had a warming trend. The air temperature increased weakly in the southwest of Hubei Province and increased evidently in the other regions. The annual extreme high temperature trend rate was on the rise from southeast to northwest, and the annual extreme low temperature increased weakly in the southwest of Hubei Province and increased greatly in the other regions.
