Research on Behaviors of Heavy Metal in Fly Ash at High Temperature
Fly ash is a kind of hazardous waste which contains various harmful heavy metals. It has potential ecological and health risks for underground water, surrounding environment and human health. Our work focused on the basic physical and chemical properties of fly ash, and the influence on the distribution and transformation of heavy metals in fly ash with temperature changes. With the help of FTIR and XRD, it was found that some carbonates and hydroxides in fly ash decompose and become more stable with the rise of temperature. By using BCR sequential extraction method, the study suggested that the unstable fractions of heavy metals decrease or become more stable fractions under high temperature.
