The analysis on three different topographic distribution of the number of regional lightning in Pearl River Delta region

In order to study more effectively the power overhead line lightning performance differences in different terrain, this paper, firstly building statistical model of regional lightning, studying statistical distribution of the number of regional lightning method.Then use this method, analyze statistically lightning on three types of terrain on the Pearl River Delta of 10 years based on lightning location system, drawn by the lightning strike the power tower in the mountain, the number slightly higher than the plain building zone, tower on the plain building zone by the protective effect of tall buildings shield, less susceptible to lightning strikes, but the number of towers in the region being struck by lightning more than plain vegetation zones.Finally, electric simulation software is used on the tower in three topographic field distribution, verify that the statistics of the number of regional distribution of lightning reasonable.
