10/350μs Crowbar impulse current test system

This article combines theoretical calculation and ATPEMTP simulation to design the 10/350μs Crowbar impulse current circuit.Parameters that affect peak value and tail time of the 10/350μs current are obtained.Methods to determine the best main circuit parameters are also concerned.with the increase of the main capacitance, the current peak value and the front time also increases ; with the increase of the forming inductance, the wave tail time and front time also increase, while the peak value decreases ; with the increase of the equivalent resistance of the test sample, the wave tail time decreases.According to the above technical design, the 10/350 μs Crowbar impulse current system is produced, with the main capacitance being 24 μF and forming inductance being 16 μH.This system can generate the standard 10/350 μs lightning current waveform with a maximum current value of 100 kA.
