DISASTERS AFFECTING HISTORIC BUILDINGS AND PREVENTIVE CONSERVATION IN ASIA
Asia has a long coastline, and urbanisation has taken place on or near the coast in areas vulnerable to disasters due to cyclone, flooding, tsunami, sea level rise etc. Historic buildings are often damaged by natural disaster but also due to manmade actions like tourism, real estate, large engineering projects etc. There are several preventive measures which are discussed in this paper.
