Preliminary Study of Field Survey Methods on Heritage Dampness Damage of Timber Material

摘要：

Material dampness is a vital factor in affecting the secure conservation of heritage building. Environment with moderate dampness may cause material erosion and speed up its damage. Pathological symptoms caused by materials can be seen everywhere in heritage buildings. So, in the prophase of field survey in heritage restoration, investigation on pathological symptoms of material dampness is one of the important aspects. This study evaluates the field survey of timber material quantitatively and qualitatively from the building pathology. Moreover, according to the different amount of moisture content in timber material, the present study also provides some fundamental methods in diagnosing the extent of material erosion and destruction, and thus can be taken as reference in spot the method of field survey in the future.
