Numerical Study of Nanofluids Laminar Forced Convection

This study was aimed to investigate the laminar forced convection flow of water-Al2O3 nanofluids in a circular tube using computational fluid dynamics approach. Fluent 6.3 was used to simulate the water based nanofluids considering it as a single phase and two phase models. The modelling of laminar forced convection in circular tube has been simulated for volume concentration of nanofluids 1% and 4% by varying the Reynold number 250, 500, 750 and 1050 respectively. The convective heat transfer coefficient for nanofluids is greater than only base fluid. The particle volume fraction of nanofluids increases the heat transfer enhancement but it is accompanied by increasing wall shear stress values.
