Numerical Study on Performance of Freezing/Refrigeration Showcase Using CO2
The performance characteristics of a Freezing/Refrigeration showcase have been analyzed according to outdoor temperature, outdoor air velocity, and 1st- and 2nd-stage EEV opening in order to increase the better understanding of the thermodynamic characteristics of the CO2 cycle. As a result, total cooling capacity was reduced by 10.9% and total compressor work was increased by 19.5%, resulting in the 25.5% drop cooling COP when outdoor temperature increased. Unlike low-pressure side, high-pressure side was found to be very sensitive to operating conditions. In addition, the cooling COP has maximum value when 1st- and 2nd-stage EEV opening is 15% and 46%, respectively.
