The Modeling of Thread-Rolling Die-Plates Based On the Design Table Functions in CAD/CAE/CAM
This paper has successfully developed an integrated automatic taper-tipped die-plates construction system via linking the design table functions in Microsoft Excel underlying SolidWorks CAD software. The developed system can be used to generate 3D threadrolling die-plate geometry in STL format for further screw thread-rolling process FEA simulations by using DEFORM 3D software. This has concluded that the quality of a taper-tipped screw depends mostly on the die-plate design at the pre-rolling portion.
