WATER DESORPTION ISOTHERM AND DRYING CHARACTERISTICS OF GREEN SOYBEAN SEEDS

A experiment was carried out thin layer drying studies of green soybean seeds using a heat pump dryer in the temperature rang of 25-45℃, relative humidity range of 0.2-0.4 dec.Water desorption isotherm was determined using the static gravimetric method of saturated salt solution, By comparing the index of goodness of fit such as error sum of squares(SSE), Adjusted R-Square and root mean square error(RMSE) based on nonlinearity measures with software Matlab,The Halsey equation was the best fit with the experiment data.The estimated parameters of the desorption isotherm A and B were 5.612 and 1.538, respecttively.Applying Clausius–Clapeyron equation, the net desorption isosteric heat was calculated, its range was from 208.8 to 3627.9 kJkg-1.In the following models: Lewis, Henderson, Page and Tompson model, the Page equation was the best model in desribing thin layer drying process of green soybean seeds.
