DESIGN AND APPLICATION OF SEED COTTON SHELF DRYER WITH ENHANCED HEATING

The reform of China cotton circulation system has brought great change to the primary market of China cotton.The seed cotton quality has some problems in the circulation of cotton.The cotton moisture content and impurities generally exceed the requirements.In order to ensure the cleaning effect of seed cotton and cotton processing quality, seed cotton is required to be dried before storage and processing.Therefore, drying of seed cotton has been widely used in China in recent years and become a basic operation of cotton processing.The rapid extensive application of machine picking technology puts forward higher requirements to seed cotton drying technology.The paper briefly introduced the general situation of seed cotton drying technologies and pointed out some deficiencies of seed cotton drying equipment in China.The principles and technology design of new developed seed cotton dryer with enhanced heating were discussed, and its performance was comprehensively evaluated with practical tests.
