DETERMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DRYING RATE AND INTERNAL TEMPERATURE DEVELOPMENT DURING MICROWAVE DRYING OF POROUS MATERIALS
The experimentally determined mutual temperature and moisture removal relationships are discussed. The experiments were carried out on the model material – gypsum spheres that were dried with microwaves at 200, 300, 400 and 500 W of power level settings. To compare microwave drying with convective drying a series of experiments with hot air at 150℃ were performed. The temperature and mass readings were conducted continuously during microwave drying using fibre optic sensors. There were revealed Significant irregularity in both temperature and drying rate were revealed in microwave drying at high power levels.
