Microwave and Convective Hot Air Drying of a Refractory Castable
In this study, microwave and convective drying of the refractory sample were carried out to investigate their drying characteristics.Experimental results showed that that in the convective hot air drying, high temperature can promote the drying rate and don’t pay an important influence on the sample’s compress strength.Microwave is a fast drying method for refractory sample, which reduce 90% drying time compared with the low temperature hot air drying process.The sample size is an important parameter in the drying process of refractory castables.
