Various Aspects of Application of High-Speed LIF-Technique to Studying the Wavy Structure of Liquid Film in Annular Gas-Liquid Flow.

Several different technical aspects of applicability of high-speed LIF-technique to studying the downward vertical annular gas-liquid flow are considered. Minimal requirements to measuring systems temporal and spatial resolution on different flow regimes are analyzed, based on comparison of existing data with different values of these parameters. Optical distortions, caused by shape of film surface, leading to brief-time overestimations of local film thickness, are described. Possible explanations of this phenomenon are proposed Results of observations on tracks of entrained droplets at the initial stage of droplets evolution are given. Observations on behavior of rare bubbles, entrapped within liquid film, are analyzed.
