The Status Quo Investigation on the Governance of Chinas Public Universities
In this article,we analyze the status quo of Chinas governance model of public universities in accordance with governance structures and governance mechanisms and obtain the governance problems of Chinas universities as well as the current causes of the problems. We select 16 Chinas public universities as the investigation object and use a serial different investigation methods,discover that some problems are as follow: lacking independence,the responsibility between the party committee and principal is unclear,the credibility of supervising mechanisms is losing,the implementation of professor scholarship is difficult,the stakeholders benefit is vacancy and the financial crisis. The main reason is the stakeholders are vacancy and the participation mechanism is not perfect. Therefore further analysis of the relationship between the stakeholders and the governance of universities is necessary. This research provides the basis to construct the reasonable stakeholders governance pattern of Chinas public universities governance.
