Development of Clean Coal Technologies in Japan

摘要：

In Japan,we have to import almost of primary energy resources from all over the world.We depend on foreign countries for 96％ of our primary energy supply.Following the two oil crises in the 1970s,Japan has diversified its energy resources through increased use of nuclear energy,natural gas and coal as well as the promotion of energy efficiency and conservation. Electricity generation in Japan reached around 1,000 TWh/year in 2008.In 2008,we have generated 12％ by oil in the total annual electricity generation and 26％ by nuclear,25％ by coal,28％ by liquid natural gas,8％ by hydraulic and around 1％ by renewable energy such as geothermal,solar,wind,biomass and so on.Japanese electric companies have also promoted to introduce the alternative energy resources of oil such as natural gas,coal and nuclear after the two oil crises.
