Life Cycle Analysis of CO2 Control Technology: Comparison of Coal-fired Power with Renewable Energy Power
Based on life cycle assessment, the paper assessed the CO2 avoided cost and cost of electricity (COE) of the power generation technologies, including coal-fired power plant with CO2 capture and storage (CCS),wind power, solar PV,and biomass-fired power plant. The results show that COE,CO2 avoided cost of 800MW USCPC+CCS is competitive comparing with renewable energy power.COE of USCPC+CCS is almost same with that of wind power, and much lower than that of biomass and solar PV.CO2 avoided cost of USCPC with CCS is a little higher than that of wind power, and much lower than that of biomass and solar PV
