REDUCING THE LITHIATION INDUCED STRESS IN LITHIUM BATTERY BY SHAPE DESIGN
In this manuscript,a numerical method was formulated to calculate the stress induced by lithium ion insertion into the electrode of lithium battery.Stress distribution in two kinds of electrodes,i.e.film deposited on substrate and nanopartide deposited on substrate,was investigated.The calculation showed that reducing the size of the electrode would help to reduce the stress of the electrode during lithiation/delithiation.It is suggested that lithium ion battery with longer duration could be obtained by the application of the electrodes with optimized nanostructure.
