A MODIFIED MICROMECHANICAL-BASED MODEL FOR CHARACTERIZING MAGNETO-MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR IN NIMNG A ALLOYS

As one of typical ferromagnetic shape memory alloys,NiMnGa alloy at room temperature is a heterogeneous material with martensitic variants and high magnetic anisotropy property.By taking the influence of the material anisotropy on the martensite variants reorientation into account,a modified micromechanical model, which follows the Eshelby equivalent inclusion method and the MoriTanaka scheme,is proposed to investigate the effect of morphology of the martensite variant inclusion on magneto-mechanical behaviors of the FSMA during martensite variants reorientation process. The simulation results show a good agreement with the experimental data.
