ULTIMATE BEARING CAPACITY OF RC BEAMS REINFORECD BY PRESTRESSED AFRP SHEET UNDER 4-POINT BENDING
The computation results of a layered shear-lag model on the stress redistributions of prestressed AFR sheet-reinforced RC beams with a crack under 4-point bending and the stress distributions of each sublayer were adopted.On the basis of this,an existing modified shear-lag model was developed and used to further study the stress concentrations induced by aramid bundle fractures in sheet;and then the statistical strength and ultimate bearing capacity of beams strengthened with prestressed AFRP sheet under 4-point bending were obtained by using a microstatistical failure theory.The results obtained relatively coincide with the existing test values.
