NONLINEAR ANALYSIS OF NEW TYPE CONCRETE-FILLED STEEL TUBULAR COLUMN-BEAM JOINT

The concrete-filled steel tubular column had freedom from restraint of axial compression ratio,so it had been widely used in high-rising structures recently. In order to meet the reqirement of earthquake resistant design code, the connection structures were very complex and it was difficult to construct. In this paper, the mechanical behavior of a new steel plate joint consisting of concrete-filled steel tubular column and SRC beam was studied by the three-dimensional finite element method. The results shows that the joint had excellent integrality, larger initial stiffness, better seismic resistance performance, favorable ductility deformation. At the same time, the joint had long yield platform and the strenth fell little after yield. The stress in the column pipe was small and there was almost no yielding after damage. Most parts of concrete in the core of column were compressed, but the stress was very small. Both panel zones and column had little deformation. In the damage process, plastic angle moved away from joint so brittle destruction was prevented.
