NEW OPTIMAL DESIGN CONCEPT OF SANDWICH STRUCTURES WITH MODIFIED PYRAMIDAL LATTICE CORES

For the pyramidal lattice truss cores sandwich structures,its mechanical properties depend on not only the lattice truss cores,but also the facesheets and the interface.In this paper,in order to enhance the equivalent shear strength of the pyramidal lattice truss cores sandwich structures,one new optimal design concept,which is based on the performance harmony among the cores,the facesheets and interface,is brought forward to design the sandwich structures with modified pyramidal lattice truss cores.Analytical results based on the new optimal design concept show that the equivalent shear strength of the modified pyramidal lattice truss cores sandwich structure may be evidently increased owing to optimum structure of the pyramidal lattice cores.
