OPTIMIZATION OF END MILLING PARAMETERS FOR GLASS FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC (GFRP) USING GREY RELATIONAL ANALYSIS
Milting of GFRP Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) is required for fabricating structures.Analysis of the behavior of cutting tools (solid carbide end mills) in the machining of GFRP is very important in manufacturing industries. In this paper, optimization of the machining parameters on milling of GFRP with Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) is carried out. This work attempts to minimize the surface delamination, machining forces, cutting torque and surface roughness.GFRP was fabricated with 33% fiber and 66% volume general purpose resin.Experiments were designed and carried out as per Taguchi technique and parameters were optimized using Grey Relational analysis (GRA).
