The Graduate Education Reform in China
The graduate education system in China is crying out for reforms. Thus, this paper focuses on the reforms of the present system in hopes of putting forward holistic solutions based on literature review and interviews. A systematic reform should be first conducted to optimize enrollment, curricula, management and assessment. Besides, much emphasis must be laid on the incentive mechanism, scientific assessment and professional ethics to facilitate more qualified supervisors. Last, keep abreast with the increasingly globalized higher education, and make international cooperation programs, funds and preferential policies available to more graduate candidates, (would-be) supervisors and administrators, a guarantee of a more balanced and sustainable development of graduate education in China.
