Cooperative Learning Applied in Teaching of Intensive Reading to English Majors

Cooperative learning strategy takes form of cooperative learning group, promotes students language learning progress by bringing into full play the interaction between dynamic factors in the course of language teaching. The strategy attaches importance to both the cooperation between students and that between the students and the teacher, and helps the two parties to attain teaching target together. The author of the present article applies cooperative learning strategy in her teaching of the course of Intensive Reading to English majors in an attempt to construct an effective mechanism of the strategy, and finds the method helpful in cultivating students teamwork mentality and cooperative ability, enhancing students autonomy and innovation in academic study. It promotes students integrated language capability, and helps students to develop in all-around ways individually and collectively.
