The Psychological Effect of Media Report on Suicidal Behavior

摘要：

The mass media play a substantial role in how they influence the publics understanding and interpretation of suicidal behavior. The impact is obviously seen on those who intend to commit suicide. According to the theory of social learning, improper repots may lead to more suicides while proper reports can help people to cherish their lives. Hence, it is very important for mass media to pay attention to skills of how to report suicidal behaviors. The media can play a significant role in suicide prevention rather than suicide contagion.
