An Analysis of Patent Application Trends in the Field of Bioenergy

摘要：

Derwent Innovations Index (DII) patent database of Thomson group was chosen, bioenergy technology patents between 1965 and 2009 were collected.Two types of analyses were conducted using the bioenergy technology patent data: longitudinal evolution of the number of patent publications (i.e., total amount of patent applications, country, technology subclass, and applicant institutions); topic analysis, where we have created content maps to identify the most important topics in bioenergy field.The patent trends of bioenergy technology were also discussed.
