The Influence Study of Technological Innovation on Economic Development
Abstract Technological innovation is the impetus to economic growth,for it can accelerate a countrys economic development.This paper makes a comprehensive review of the technological innovation ability from two aspects: technological innovation input and technological innovation output.This paper will choose R&D expenditure,number of invention patents granted and S&T publications to represent the technological innovation ability, and uses the statistical data from 1993 to 2008 as sample data to constructs a regression model to study the influence of technological innovation on economic development. The empirical study result shows that R&D expenditure and S&T publications has a clear positive influence on economic growth, and the impact of S&T publications is particularly outstanding.But as one of the most important technological innovation output, the number of invention patents granted has a negative effect on economic growth.This paper also further analyses the causes of this phenomenon.This result shows that further promoting S&T papers writing and publication, maintaining the steady growth of R&D expenditure, and accelerating the industrialization of patents, has an important actual significance to enhance the innovation ability and promote economic development.
