The Sustainable Resource View of Complete Treatise on Agriculture and Enlightenment to Modern Agricultural Development
The thought of sustainable development appears not only in contemporary, a classic book of Chinese traditional agriculture Complete Treatise on Agriculture already contains rich ideas of the sustainable use and protection of natural resources. This study analyzed the sustainable thoughts in Complete Treatise on Agriculture from aspects of usage and protection of water resources, land resources and bio-resources. It then explored how these thoughts providing useful experiences for modern agriculture concerning the establishment of systematic ecological viewpoint, the effective usage of agricultural resources through technologies as well as the joint of traditional organic agriculture with modern oil agriculture. The results show that the sustainable resource viewpoints in Chinese traditional agriculture have important reference value for solving water crisis, land resource destruction and biological diversity decline during the development of modern oil agriculture.
