Study of Ecological Footprint and Ecological Carrying Capacity of Water Resources in Circum Circum Dongting Lake Area in Hunan
According to the basic principle and the calculation model of the ecological footprint, the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity of water resources in Circum Dongting Lake area from 2005 and 2010 were analyzed. The results showed that the development of water resources in Circum Dongting Lake area wasnt sustainable. The per capita ecological footprint of water resources in Circum Dongting Lake area from 2005 and 2010 was about 3 hm2, and had not significant changes. The per capita ecological capacity had a gradually increasing trend. But the per capita ecological deficit had been decreased. It was calculated that although the use of water resources had sign of improvement, water resources had been unable to meet the needs of economic development in the Circum Dongting Lake area.
