Study on Leaf Distribution Based on thelnner-canopy Luminous Environment
The katus, a subtropical evergreen broad-leaved plant, was taken as an example to investigate the canopy structure and the leaf distribution based on the distribution of the inner-canopy solar radiation. We analyzed the factors that influence the canopy structure, and then the layers of the canopy vertically and horizontally were divided according to relevant theories. In the horizontal direction they were divided into sunlit and shaded leaves. For sunlit leaves, a model of direct light based on the principle of minimized overlapping individual shadows was constructed;the distribution of shaded leaves was obtained through the inner-canopy luminous environment. Finally the model of optimal leaf distribution under natural conditions was built The model can be beneficial for planting and trimming.
