A Brief Survey on Application of Support Vector Machine in Oceanography

摘要：

Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine learning method that can utilize a relatively small number of training samples to obtain an effective model. It has been paid more attention and applied in many fields, although there were few reports available in oceanography research and relevant applications. The theoretical background for Support Vector Machine was first introduced and a brief survey was then presented on current application of SVM in Oceanography. Finally, the prospect on using SVM in future oceanography research was suggested.
