Analysis and Antioxidant Activity of the Essential Oil from Seed of Heracleum Moellendorffii Hance
Essential oil from seed of Heracleum moellendorffii Hance was obtained for the first time by hydrodistillation and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. In total, 69 components were detected, 41 components (98.60%) were identified, Among of which the major components were octyl acetate(63.80%), octyl butyrate (12.23%) and n-octanol(11.51%). The radical scavenging activity of the products were evaluated using DPPH. Essential oil was found to possess higher radical scavenging activity than Vc and BHT. The DPPH scavenging rate could be up to 78.9%. The time to reach steady state of essential oil also exhibited shorter than Vc and BHT.
