A Method of Extracting Radar Target Poles
In resonance domain, the radar scattering response can be modeled by natural poles of resonance. The mapping of poles gives useful information for the discrimination of radar targets. In this paper a method of extracting radar target poles is proposed with three steps. First we should estimate the number of the possible target poles. Then a relevant standard is used to cancel false poles and leaves dominant poles. Lastly poles in different directions are integrated to the final poles based on directional invariance of target poles. Pole results of the thin wire and Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer show that the new method is more convenient and precise in practice.
