An UWB Bandpass Filter with Short-Circuited Multi-Mode Resonator via Inductive Coupling
In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter based on short-circuited multi-mode resonator (MMR) is proposed and developed. The individual lengths of three cascaded sections in the MMR are set to about λg/4, λg/2 and λg/4, where λg is the guidedwavelength at the center frequency of the passband. The impedance ratio of the 1st and 3 rd sections to the 2nd section is appropriately studied, aiming to quasi-equally allocate the first three resonant frequencies within the specified wide or ultra-wide passband. Next, two identical short-circuited stubs are introduced in shunt between the external ports and the MMR to serve as frequency-dispersive coupling structures with tightened degree. Plus the two additional transmission poles introduced by these two stubs, the final bandpass filter can achieve an ultra-wide passband with five transmission poles. The simulation results agree well with the measurement.
