IMPROVING SYNTHESIS OF POLYCAPROLACTONE BY DIBUTHYNLTIN DILAURATE CATALYST
In this Work, polymerization of polycaprolactone with dibutyltin dilaurate catalyst is studied.Dibutyltin dilaurate is proposed as a suitable catalyst for polymerization of polycaprolactone. Then, the efficiencies of tin(II)2-ethyl hexanoate and dibutyltin dilaurate catalysts are compared. Moreover, The effects of various parameters such as temperature, time, the mole ratio of monomer to initiator, and the mole ratio of monomer to catalyst on the molecular weight and the percentage of conversion of polymer are studied.Consequently, it is found that laurate catalyst needs a short time for polymerization reaction and causes the molecular weight (Mw) of the polymer to increase.Besides, dibutyltin dilaurate catalyst exhibits a little sensitivity to the changes of reaction conditions.
