Cultural Entrepreneurs and Creative Cluster Development:A Case Study of LOFT 49 Creative Industries Park in Hangzhou, China
The paper adopts a qualitative research method to examine the roles of the cultural entrepreneurs in creative cluster development in Chinese cities. With a case study of LOFT49 Creative Industries Park in Hangzhou, the paper identifies the roles of these independents are initiators, practitioners and visionaries. Furthermore, the case illustrates a process of transferring the idea of loft living to a pragmatic creative cluster, from which the paper identifies the challenges these cultural entrepreneurs are facing.
