Evaluating Model on Developing Stage of Industrial Cluster:Case Study of Zhejiang Textile Industry
Industrial cluster develops from birth to growth, maturity, and finally to decline stages. To assess the development stage of a cluster is both practical and theoretic research question. We indentify features in each stage, and the evolution of the cluster, finally we found unique factors in stage developing. Because Zhejiang Province is one of most developed area in textile industry, the purpose of this paper is to explore a model to assess its developing stage on the basis of analyzing the stage characteristics and their impacts during lifecycle. The result shows that the textile industry cluster is in the shifting from maturity to decline stage. Therefore, we suggest that local governments should provide technology and financial supports to enhancing linking firms to research organizations.
