Study on Environmental Management System of SMEs

摘要：

Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) make up the vast majority of companies and make a great contribution to the economical development in China. However, pollution from SMEs has already caused visible damage to the environment. Environmental management system (EMS) is viewed as a tool used to provide SMEs with the means to save cost and improve their environmental performance. A simple model is made to analyze the necessity that SME adopts the EMS in the paper, based on the introduction of definition and impact on the EMS. Some suggestions for pushing SMEs to implement EMS are put forward.
