The analysis on DOA estimation under the impact of mutual coupling
Based on the uniform linear array (ULA) model, the mechanism that how mutual coupling affect several main DOA estimation algorithms such as conventional beam-forming (CBF) algorithm, Capons MVDR algorithm, MUSIC algorithm, ESPRIT algorithm and Root-MUSIC algorithm are analyzed, and the simulation is also executed using MATLAB software. The analysis and simulation results indicate that the errors due to the mutual coupling augment the errors of DOA estimation algorithms, reduce the probability of success, and degrade the performance of algorithms seriously.
