Research on the Voice Signal in Dongxiang Language

This paper is based on . the traditional and experimental phonetic methods. We focus on Dongxiang vowel, using experimental equipment and voice function analysis software, to extract the fundamental frequency, open quotient and speed quotient of the vowel / i /,/(e)/,/ α /,/ o /,/ u / and do statistical analysis. This study shows lax and tense vowels may not exist in Dongxiang.
