Study of an Optimal Control Strategy for Biological Wastewater Treatment Process
How to design control strategy in order to improve the effluent performance index and upgrade the water quality and reduce the operation cost has been the topic of general concern by many researchers. Based on conventional control loops in Benchmark Simulation Model No.1 (BSM1), it proposed an optimal control method of multiple PID loops of biological wastewater treatment By MATLAB / Simulink simulation environment, it evaluated the performance of the proposed method based on the performance index which provided by the benchmark. The results showed that this method can improve the effluent performance index for biological wastewater treatment process. It improved the water quality and reduced the operation cost compared with the simple PID control, and validated the availability and effectiveness of this method.
