Optimization of Cooperative Sensing Based on Energy Consume in Cognitive Radio Networks
In cognitive radio networks, with cooperation spectrum sensing, secondary users can share their sensing results and cooperatively decide on the occupancy status of the licensed spectrum, thereby providing fast and reliable detection of the existence of primary users. In this paper, we introduce energy consume factor into cooperative sensing, given a targeted probability of detection for the network, a sensing-utility tradeoff problem is formulated to find the optimal detection time and the number of cooperative secondary users that maximize the achievable utility by using OR fusion scheme. Computer simulations show that the great improvement in the average-utility of the secondary users is achieved when the number of cooperative secondary users and the detection time are optimized.
